Today is World Mental Health Day. It is shown that people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder “PTSD” can benefit greatly from being around animals. This positive impact can be particularly seen with cows who, as a larger animal, naturally have a slower heartbeat.
These intangible and invaluable benefits manifest as feelings of comfort, calm and reassurance for the owner. Bóthar have consistently undertaken projects in post war zones such as Kosovo and Rwanda. We are humbled to see the positive impact our animals and work continues to have on genocide widows and on some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
We are proud to continue our work with farmers in Kosovo this autumn when we will send over 60 in-calf heifers to support 3 areas across the country. We remain extremely grateful to our supporters for the opportunity to facilitate the life-changing, 32-year mission of Bóthar.
