Sancta Maria College

Well done to the second year students from Sancta Maria College, Louisburgh, Co Mayo, who on May 26th took part in an insightful fundraiser for Bóthar. The group of over 30 young men and women completed a 5.6 km walk whilst sharing the carrying of two 5 litre water containers. By doing this, they wanted to raise awareness of the plight of people living in the Developing World who have to do this task everyday in order to have the vital natural resource we all take for granted. The students spoke of this amongst themselves as they walked of "how easy is it to just turn the tap on; imagine actually having to do this just to have water". The future of fundraising and awareness raising is safe in the hands of our youth with the students raising a fantastic €1,115.
