This project in Morocco is part of a larger partnership with Elevages Sans Frontières which also involves projects in Togo and Benin. This particular project involves 83 families who have received goats, bees and laying hens and started in 2007. As such, Morocco is one of Bóthar’s newest project countries.

Partnership with Elevages Sans Frontieres (ESF, French NGO)

Animals: Alpine goats, bees, laying hens
Other inputs: Veterinary aid and concentrate feeding.
Training: Basic animal health management, goat husbandry, micro-credit, teamwork, hive and zero grazing unit construction and maintenance and basic hygiene.
Brief synopsis: This project aims to establish 58 families with 125 alpine goats, 10 families with the same number of beehives and 15 families with poultry farms. Training in how to care for and manage their animals, and in how to build the appropriate shelters for them is a requirement. Training will be provided by Elevages sans Frontieres and the ROSA association.

Expected benefits: The quality of life for the beneficiaries should be greatly improved along with the health and productivity of livestock, with opportunities for the sale of produce and the help that those sales bring, naturally following.
